GSC Power-Division is glad to reveal the newest addition to our camshaft line, the GSC7045 Forged Billet S3 for the VR38 powered GT-R. This isn’t just another cam though; lots of research and development went into every aspect of these bump sticks. The billet cores for these cams are proprietary and made in house at GSC. We developed stronger, lighter cams with additional fatigue and wear resistance. CNC machining and grinding give us the most accurate and repeatable camshafts possible, with precision gun drilling down the center of the cam for oil delivery and weight reduction. This far exceeds OEM durability with the performance GSC Power-Division is world famous for.
Required for the 7045S3 are the GSC 5054 Beehive valve springs and lightweight titanium retainers, this combination will keep the valve train happy up to 9,800 RPM at 60 PSI of boost. GSC specifically designed the valve springs and retainers for the high horsepower VR38DETT and utilize different intake and exhaust retainers to keep proper spring seat pressure.
The Stage 3 (S3) cams are specifically suggested for stroker engines or high-revving builds that require significant airflow at upper RPM ranges.
Both the intake and exhaust camshafts feature a substantial 280° total duration and 11mm peak valve lift to support massive horsepower.
Yes, you must use GSC 5054 Beehive valve springs and titanium retainers to safely manage the valve train up to 9,800 RPM at 60 PSI of boost.
Due to the aggressive size of the cam lobes, head clearancing may be necessary to prevent contact and ensure safe operation.
These are CNC machined from proprietary forged billet cores for superior strength and feature gun drilling down the center for weight reduction and oil delivery.
