Can I use these bearings with stock Nissan connecting rods?

No. These bearings are specifically sized and tanged for Manley rods that have been modified (retanged) to accept this custom Big Block Chevy style bearing shell.

What is the advantage of using a 'BBC retanged' bearing?

This modification allows us to use a wider, more robust bearing shell originally designed for V8s. This significantly increases the load-bearing surface area, which is critical for 2000+ HP GT-R builds.

Are these bearings compatible with the factory VR38 crankshaft?

No. These bearings are exclusively designed to pair with the custom journal sizing of the GT1R Crankshaft. They will not fit a standard Nissan VR38DETT crank.

Do I need to modify my Manley rods to fit these?

If you bought the specific 'BBC retanged' Manley rods from us, no. If you have standard off-the-shelf Manley rods, they will not accept this bearing due to differences in tang location and housing bore.

What material are these GT1R spec bearings made from?

These are high-performance tri-metal racing bearings, designed to withstand the extreme compressive loads and high RPMs found in our Series 6 and Pro Mod engine packages.
