Frequently Asked Questions About the MoTeC PDM16

How does the PDM16 improve vehicle reliability?

By replacing mechanical relays and fuses with solid-state electronics, the PDM16 eliminates physical failure points and provides faster, smarter circuit protection against shorts and overloads.

How many devices can the MoTeC PDM16 power?

It features 16 independent outputs. These are designed to power various components like fuel pumps, cooling fans, lights, and ECUs from a single, compact unit.

Does the PDM16 completely replace my fuse box?

Yes. It acts as a combined fuse box and relay board. This significantly simplifies the wiring harness by reducing the need for heavy copper wire and complex physical interconnects.

Can the PDM16 help diagnose electrical issues?

Yes. It provides real-time diagnostics. If a circuit shorts or draws too much current, the PDM can retry the circuit automatically, log the fault, or send an alert to your dashboard.

Is the PDM16 suitable for street cars or just racing?

While race-bred, it is excellent for high-end street builds, restomods, or any vehicle where modernizing the electrical system, saving weight, and saving space are priorities.
