PTP FP30 Turbo Blanket

PTP Turbo Blankets isolate the heat produced by your turbocharger with the purpose of reducing turbo lag, cooler air intake temperatures, protecting and prolonging engine components, and giving a boost in horsepower.

In keeping the heat of the exhaust gases contained within the hot side of the turbocharger and away from the cool side of the turbocharger and the intake path, more oxygen per unit volume reaches the engine, and thus, more power.

PTP Turbo Blanket Heat Tolerance:

Frequently Asked Questions About the PTP FP30 Turbo Blanket

Which specific turbochargers is this PTP blanket designed for?

This blanket is engineered specifically to fit the unique housing shape of Forced Performance FP30 style turbochargers.

How does installing this blanket reduce turbo lag?

By containing thermal energy within the turbine housing, the blanket keeps exhaust gases hotter and moving faster, which improves spool-up time and throttle response.

What are the temperature limits for the interior of the blanket?

The interior surface is rated for a maximum temperature of 2012°F (1100°C) and can handle continuous use at 1832°F (1000°C).

Does this blanket help lower intake air temperatures?

Yes, by isolating the hot side of the turbo, less heat soaks into the compressor side and the engine bay, resulting in cooler, denser air entering the engine.

What is the direct contact heat limit for the exterior of the blanket?

The exterior surface materials are rated for a direct contact limit of 600°F (316°C) and a radiant heat limit of 1100°F (593°C).
