Commodore VZ (LS2) | ID1700-XDS | Injector Dynamics | 1700.48.14.15.8

ID1700-XDS, for Commodore VZ / LS2 application. 14mm (grey) adapter top, set of 8. Orange lower o-ring.

The ID1700-XDS was designed to fill the gap between the ID1300-XDS and the ID2600-XDS, and like both, it features corrosion resistant internals making it compatible with all known automotive fuels.

A unique magnetic circuit, resulting from a lengthy development program, makes the ID1700-XDS immune to voltage and pressure sensitivity problems that plague other high impedance high flow injectors. The ID1700-XDS excels at high pressures typical of current automotive systems, and will perform flawlessly in these applications.

Application Notes

The ID1700-XDS was designed to be an all fuel compatible injector, capable of very high flow rates. As such, it will most often be used to deliver E85 to boosted engines, or occasionally, gasoline in extreme high horsepower applications. Neither of these applications requires extended linearity at low flow rates, and so this was given a proportionately lower priority during the design process.

The ID1700-XDS will deliver flawless stoichiometric idle and cruise mixtures on E85, but like the ID2600-XDS, should not be expected to do so on gasoline.

If you need flawless drivability on gasoline, the ID1300-XDS will provide this, and is capable of approximately 150hp per injector on E85.

Nominal Flow Rate – 1725cc/min @ 3.0 Bar (43.5 psi) Using Iso-Octane at 52 Degrees C (125 Degrees F)

Frequently Asked Questions About the Commodore VZ LS2 ID1700-XDS

What is the rated flow of the ID1700-XDS for the Commodore VZ LS2 V8 engine at 3.0 Bar?

The ID1700-XDS flows approximately 1680 cc/min at 3.0 Bar. This massive flow capacity is necessary for supercharged or turbocharged LS2 Commodores targeting extreme horsepower on E85 fuel.

How does the metal body construction of the ID1700-XDS help maintain accuracy in the VZ Commodore's hot engine bay?

The stainless steel body provides excellent heat dissipation and resists thermal expansion. This ensures the injector maintains precise flow consistency, even under high engine heat conditions.

What physical size and connector type ensure a direct fitment in the Commodore VZ LS2 fuel rail?

This specific part number features the correct mid-length body and the correct USCAR (EV6/EV14) electrical connector. This configuration allows for a clean, plug-and-play installation into the factory fuel rails.

How does the ID1700-XDS's precision aid in tuning the VZ LS2 for low-speed drivability?

The injector's excellent minimum pulse width control allows for extremely accurate fuel metering at low duty cycles. This ensures a smooth, stable idle and predictable street manners despite the high flow rate.

Is the high-impedance design of the ID1700-XDS compatible with the factory Commodore VZ LS2 ECU?

Yes, the ID1700-XDS is a high-impedance injector, making it electrically compatible with the stock ECU. This eliminates the need for external resistor boxes or complex driver circuit modifications.
