ID1300-XDS, for 79-84 RX-7. 11mm (blue) adapters. -204 / 14mm lower o-rings. Set of 2.
The ID1300 is an all new injector, designed in partnership with Bosch Motorsport. This collaboration has given us the ability to design a high flow injector with characteristics specific to the needs of the motorsport tuner. The ID1300 was designed with alternative fuels in mind, and is the only performance injector available with all stainless internals. It is compatible with all known fuels, and will stand up to the corrosive nature of alcohol better than any injector on the market.
While the ID1300 was designed with an eye towards ethanol fueled engines, we have accounted for the occasional need to convert back to gasoline. The ID1300 has a minimum fuel mass compatible with gasoline use, and will provide exceptional idle and cruise behavior under these conditions. In addition to its multi-fuel capabilities, the compact body of the ID1300 allows fitment in 200+ applications, making it the most versatile injector in our lineup. The 1300 has continued to be refined and improved over the years, and the 1300-XDS is the latest and best version to date.
Base Specifications
The 1335 cc/min flow rate of the ID1300-XDS is exceptionally high for a 2-injector rotary setup. On E85, this set can generally support a boosted 12A or 13B engine up to 400-450 wheel horsepower (whp) before approaching 80% duty cycle. This makes it ideal for highly modified first-generation RX-7s requiring massive fuel flow from a single primary injector per rotor.
Official characterization data, including the Slope & Offset vs. Pressure tables and dead time data for the ID1300-XDS (use ID1300x2 data), is available on the Injector Dynamics website. This comprehensive data is critical for achieving precise fuel metering and stable idle quality on popular rotary ECUs like Haltech, MicroTech, or MoTeC.
This part number features an 11mm top adapter (blue) and a 14mm lower O-ring (using the -204 cushion) to achieve the necessary overall length for the 1979-1984 RX-7 engine. This configuration ensures the injector tip is positioned correctly in the rotary housing for optimal spray pattern and fuel atomization.
The 1979-1984 RX-7 often requires an injector connector change as part of the engine management upgrade (as the stock cars were carbureted or early, non-standard EFI). The injector uses the standard USCAR connector. While PNP adapters for common rotary ECUs exist, we recommend sourcing new USCAR connectors with terminals and seals for the best long-term reliability on these older, custom-wired engine swaps.
The ID1300-XDS features all stainless steel internals for maximum E85 compatibility and corrosion resistance. However, due to the age of the FB RX-7 fuel system, a dedicated 10-micron or finer secondary (post-pump) fuel filter is absolutely essential to prevent damage from rust or debris flushed out of the tank or lines.
