ID1300-XDS, for BMW E36, 14mm (purple) adapters, set of 6.
The ID1300 is an all new injector, designed in partnership with Bosch Motorsport. This collaboration has given us the ability to design a high flow injector with characteristics specific to the needs of the motorsport tuner. The ID1300 was designed with alternative fuels in mind, and is the only performance injector available with all stainless internals. It is compatible with all known fuels, and will stand up to the corrosive nature of alcohol better than any injector on the market.
While the ID1300 was designed with an eye towards ethanol fueled engines, we have accounted for the occasional need to convert back to gasoline. The ID1300 has a minimum fuel mass compatible with gasoline use, and will provide exceptional idle and cruise behavior under these conditions. In addition to its multi-fuel capabilities, the compact body of the ID1300 allows fitment in 200+ applications, making it the most versatile injector in our lineup. The 1300 has continued to be refined and improved over the years, and the 1300-XDS is the latest and best version to date.
Base Specifications
The Injector Dynamics ID1300-XDS provides a nominal flow rate of 1335 cc/min 127 lb/hr at 43.5 psi. This set of 6 injectors is a performance upgrade for the M52 engine, safely supporting turbocharged E85 setups well into the 650 to 750 wheel horsepower range.
This injector is the 60mm standard length (O-ring to O-ring), which is the direct mechanical height required for the factory BMW M52 fuel rail and intake manifold ports on the 1996-1998 328i}$. It features a 14mm upper O-ring and 14mm lower O-ring.
No, an adapter is required. The ID1300-XDS uses the modern USCAR (EV6/EV14) connector. The 1996-1998 BMW E36}$ harness uses the older rectangular EV1 (Bosch Jetronic) connector. You will need six USCAR to EV1 Plug-and-Play (PNP) adapters (ID P/N 90.1) for a clean installation.
Yes, but requires custom flashing. The M52's MS41 DME can be custom-tuned using software like RomRaideror commercial flashes (like TMS). Injector Dynamics provides the necessary Dead Time (Latency) tables and Flow vs. Pressure data, which are crucial for the tuner to accurately scale the DME for this flow rate.
The ID1300-XDS is precisely matched (Dual Slope Matching), minimizing its own contribution to idle instability. However, rough cold starts on the M52 are very often caused by a faulty Idle Control Valve (ICV), a bad Crankcase Ventilation Valve (CCV), or a vacuum leak (especially intake boots), which should be diagnosed and fixed before tuning.
