Focus RS MK II-IV | ID1300-XDS | Injector Dynamics | 1300.60.14.14.5

ID1300-XDS, for Ford RS MKII-IV applications, 14 mm (purple) adapters. Set of 5.

The ID1300 is an all new injector, designed in partnership with Bosch Motorsport. This collaboration has given us the ability to design a high flow injector with characteristics specific to the needs of the motorsport tuner. The ID1300 was designed with alternative fuels in mind, and is the only performance injector available with all stainless internals. It is compatible with all known fuels, and will stand up to the corrosive nature of alcohol better than any injector on the market.

While the ID1300 was designed with an eye towards ethanol fueled engines, we have accounted for the occasional need to convert back to gasoline. The ID1300 has a minimum fuel mass compatible with gasoline use, and will provide exceptional idle and cruise behavior under these conditions. In addition to its multi-fuel capabilities, the compact body of the ID1300 allows fitment in 200+ applications, making it the most versatile injector in our lineup. The 1300 has continued to be refined and improved over the years, and the 1300-XDS is the latest and best version to date.

Frequently Asked Questions About the ID1300-XDS Injectors for Focus RS MKII-IV

What maximum E85 horsepower will the ID1300-XDS set of 5 support on a highly modified Focus RS (2.5L 5-cylinder)?

The ID1300-XDS (1335 cc/min at 43.5 psi) set of 5 injectors is sized for extreme performance on the Ford/Volvo 5-cylinder engine. It supports forced induction E85 setups well into the 600 to 750+ wheel horsepower range, providing exceptional fuel reliability and margin for large turbo upgrades.

Is the 60mm length of the 1300.60.14.14.5 injector a direct drop-in for the Focus RS MK2 factory fuel rail?

Yes, it is a direct fit. This ID1300-XDS set is configured to the standard 60mm O-ring to O-ring length required for the 5-cylinder engine. It includes 14mm top and bottom O-rings and is a direct replacement for the factory injector.

Why is this ID1300-XDS set sold as a quantity of 5, and how does the ECU handle the odd cylinder count for tuning?

This set is sold as a quantity of 5 because the Focus RS MK2 (and related ST models) utilizes the unique Ford/Volvo 2.5L 5-cylinder engine. The factory PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is designed to manage this specific cylinder count, and tuning software (like SCT or Cobb) scales the ID injector data across the 5 cylinders.

Does this USCAR ID1300-XDS set require PNP adapters to connect to the Focus RS factory harness?

Yes, adapters are required. The ID1300-XDS uses the modern USCAR connector. The factory Focus RS harness uses the older rectangular EV1 (Minitimer) connector. You will need five USCAR to EV1 PNP adapters (ID P/N 90.1) for a clean, non-splicing electrical hookup.

How does the ID1300-XDS prevent the rough idle and potential stalling often seen during cold start on the 5-cylinder Focus when using large injectors?

The ID1300-XDS eliminates this issue with Dual Slope Matching, which ensures extreme precision in the low-pulse width range. This allows the PCM to accurately command the minute amount of fuel required for stable idle and enrichment during the cold start emissions cycle, which is a common stumbling block for the original 5-cylinder control system.
