MR-2 Non-turbo 90-96 | ID2600-XDS | Injector Dynamics | 2600.60.11.D.4

ID2600-XDS, for MR-2 Non-turbo 90-96 / 5SFE applications. 11mm (blue) adapter top. Denso lower. Set of 4.

The ID2600-XDS is the most recent offering from the partnership of Injector Dynamics and Bosch Motorsport.

The ID2600-XDS was developed specifically for use with liquid fuels, featuring corrosion resistant internals, and long term compatibility with ethanol and methanol.

The ID2600-XDS has the highest flow rate of any injector offered by Bosch, and flows 50% more than the ID1700x.

The ID2600-XDS benefits from Dual Slope Matching, a method of matching the flow rate in both the linear, and nonlinear operating range, providing better cylinder to cylinder consistency at low pulse widths.

What is Dual Slope Matching?

Dual Slope Matching is a method of matching injectors that provides the best possible cylinder to cylinder fueling across the entire operating range.

Traditionally, injectors were matched based on static flow rate alone, which resulted in large deviations at low pulse widths.

Injector Dynamics introduced Slope Intercept Matching over a decade ago, which provided even cylinder to cylinder fueling across the linear operating range of the injector.

With the progression of turbo technology, and increased use of alcohol fuels, greater demands are placed on fuel injectors, and they are often required to deliver fuel well outside of their linear operating range.

The concept of Dual Slope Matching extends the injector matching into the lower non linear operating range. Dual Slope Matching was conceived by Aaron Looft of Injector Dynamics, who was inspired by the dual slope injector characterization model used by Ford.

Frequently Asked Questions About the MR-2 Non-turbo 90-96 ID2600-XDS Injectors

Why are Injector Dynamics ID2600-XDS injectors a good upgrade for the MR-2 Non-turbo 90-96?

The ID2600-XDS injectors provide precise fuel delivery and improved atomization, enhancing performance and throttle response on MR-2 Non-turbo 90-96 models. They are ideal for naturally aspirated performance builds or mild engine upgrades.

Do the ID2600-XDS injectors fit directly in the MR-2 Non-turbo 90-96 fuel system?

Yes, these injectors are compatible with the stock fuel rail setup on MR-2 Non-turbo 90-96 models. However, ECU tuning is recommended to optimize fueling and ensure safe engine operation.

Can the ID2600-XDS injectors handle E85 or ethanol-based fuels in a Non-turbo MR-2?

Yes, the ID2600-XDS injectors are fully compatible with E85 and other ethanol blends. Their corrosion-resistant design and precise flow make them suitable for high-ethanol or flex-fuel naturally aspirated setups.

How much horsepower can these injectors support on a MR-2 Non-turbo 90-96?

With proper ECU tuning and supporting modifications, the ID2600-XDS injectors can support moderate performance upgrades beyond stock, making them ideal for naturally aspirated MR-2 builds.

Are additional fuel system upgrades necessary when installing ID2600-XDS injectors on a Non-turbo MR-2?

For most mild builds, the stock fuel system is sufficient. However, upgrading the fuel pump or pressure regulator may be recommended for higher performance or E85 fuel setups to maintain consistent fuel delivery.
