ID1300-XDS, for BMW E46 M3, 14mm (grey) adapter top, set of 6.
The ID1300 is an all new injector, designed in partnership with Bosch Motorsport. This collaboration has given us the ability to design a high flow injector with characteristics specific to the needs of the motorsport tuner. The ID1300 was designed with alternative fuels in mind, and is the only performance injector available with all stainless internals. It is compatible with all known fuels, and will stand up to the corrosive nature of alcohol better than any injector on the market.
While the ID1300 was designed with an eye towards ethanol fueled engines, we have accounted for the occasional need to convert back to gasoline. The ID1300 has a minimum fuel mass compatible with gasoline use, and will provide exceptional idle and cruise behavior under these conditions. In addition to its multi-fuel capabilities, the compact body of the ID1300 allows fitment in 200+ applications, making it the most versatile injector in our lineup. The 1300 has continued to be refined and improved over the years, and the 1300-XDS is the latest and best version to date.
Base Specifications
The ID1300-XDS (1335 cc/min at 43.5 psi) is the highest flow injector recommended for optimal gasoline drivability. It supports E85 boosted setups up to 650 to 800 wheel horsepower, which is ideal for most Vortech, ESS, or VF supercharger kits on E85. The ID1750-XDS is only necessary for extreme builds exceeding 800 whp.
Yes, it is a direct fit. This ID1300-XDS set is configured to the specific 48mm O-ring to O-ring length required for the S54 manifold. It installs directly into the factory fuel rail and manifold bosses without requiring spacers.
Yes, adapters are required. The ID1300-XDS uses the modern USCAR connector. The factory E46 M3 S54 harness uses the older rectangular EV1 (Minitimer) connector. You will need six USCAR to EV1 PNP adapters (ID P/N 90.1) for a clean electrical connection.
Injector Dynamics provides comprehensive and validated characterization data, including Dead Time (Latency) and Short Pulse Adder tables (based on ID1300x2), on their support site. This data is critical for calibrating the MSS54 DME to ensure a stable fuel pulse at the minimal pulse widths required during cold enrichment, eliminating the startup RPM dip.
Rough or inconsistent idle in the S54 is often caused by vacuum leaks, particularly at the cracked crankcase vent (CCV) or intake boot connections. It can also be caused by incorrect Vanos timing or a misadjusted Idle Air Control Valve (IACV). Always verify the mechanical health of the engine before assuming the injectors are the source of the idle issue.
